Ken Bowling, Director, has worked with the Utilities Department
on Bald Head Island for fifteen years, has had extensive training and experience in Water and Wastewater operations, and currently holds NC certifications in the following:
• Water Treatment Facility Operators
• Water Distribution System Operator
• Biological Water Pollution Control Operator
• Water Pollution Control Collection System Operator
• Subsurface System Operator
• Spray Irrigation System Operator
• Pesticide Applicator (Land & Aquatic)
Before his arrival on Bald Head Island, Ken served in the Air
Force for six years as Tactical Aircraft Crew Chief and then
served six years working with various Nuclear Power Facilities
along the East Coast where his primary job was in
instrumentation installation, calibration and testing. After
much traveling, Ken decided to move back to his birth home,
Southport, where he currently resides with his wife of
30 years, Brenda. Ken and Brenda have one son, and
one granddaughter.
