CALL STATISTICS:
Our department runs approximately 420-440 calls per year. Approximately one half of those are fire related and the other half are medical related. Most of the fire related calls are false alarms or service calls. We have a significant number of walk-in patients Public Safety buildings

TRAINING:
Our staff is comprised of numerous state certified instructors and we hold the majority of our fire, medical and law enforcement training on the island.
APPARATUS:
We utilize two (2) fire engines, one (1) 50' ladder truck, two (2) ambulances, one (1) hybrid rescue/patrol vehicle, one (1) rescue/patrol pickup truck, a beach rescue truck, a rigid hull inflatable water rescue boat, two (2) ATV beach vehicles, three (3) patrol bicycles, a rehab/medical golf cart and a command vehicle.

PUBLIC SAFETY STATIONS:
Our Department of Public Safety Administration Building consists of offices, conference room, a single apparatus bay, interview room, evidence room and various storage and specialty rooms.
Our Department of Public Safety Operations Building consists of five (5) apparatus bays, a medical treatment room, bunk rooms, kitchen and a training room.
We also have a reserve station that houses our reserve fire engine, which located in the Middle Island area of the island.
