Our department consists of one (1) career Chief, one (1) career Administrative Captain, six (6) career Fire-Medics,
eight (8) career part-time Fire-Medics and
34 Volunteers.
There are two (2) career Fire-Medics on shift 24 hours per day/seven days a week. Shift schedules are 24 hours on, 24 hours off, 24 hours on, 24 hours off, 24 hours on, and then a four day break.
The Chief of Emergency Services and Administrative Captain work Weekdays, daytime hours, and as needed for emergencies, meetings, and other events.
EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:
Fulltime employees currently start with a base salary at around $35,000 annually. This does not include regular scheduled overtime, holiday pay, or extra overtime. Benefits include NC State retirement system, 401K, health insurance options, supplemental insurance options, etc.
Part-time employees currently start at $13.00 per hour, with potential for $15.00 per hour after six-months probationary employment and certain credentials to include NC Firefighter Level II certification.
