Structure Fire (Residential).   October 2006

This structure fire smoldered and then burned for a long time before being identified by bystanders and 911 being activated.  The reason for this was lack of a working monitored fire alarm system and the location was a cul-de-sac off the beach.  This time of year yields few visitors at night.  Some of the first calls came from people on Oak Island that saw the flames from the other side of the inlet.  When fire personnel arrived on scene the fire was already through the roof.

Initial view.

This photo was taken within minutes of fire personnel arriving on scene.
