Disasters and events, either natural or manmade, are a concern everywhere. The Village Emergency Management staff monitor for such things and respond accordingly.

The Village of Bald Head Island is introducing a new emergency management system this year in cooperation with Brunswick County. Starting on June 1st, 2013, property owners can register on the Village website to receive emergency messaging, updates about specific storms and for re-entry passes following a storm.

Post Storm Event Reentry
Following a storm, the Village will utilize a process for island re-entry. A preregistration system will be implemented to facilitate expedient movement of home owners & authorized personnel at the appropriate time.

Village of Bald Head Island offers a service of "House Checks" for homeowners.
This allows for homeowners to send a request for their home on Bald Head Island to be checked for external damage from a storm or other event. As soon as it is safe and feasible, your home will be checked and you will receive a return email with the pertinent information about your home. Please note that this email is only enabled during a storm event. It is not active year round.
