Public Safety
Officer I (PSO -I)
Full-time Law Enforcement Officer/Firefighter/EMT
Village of Bald Head Island is accepting applications for the
position of
Public Safety Officer I (PSO-I).
Successful candidates
will have a positive attitude, good customer service skills, be
adaptable to change, hold a current and valid NC BLET
certificate, and possess at least one of the following
credentials and be willing and able to obtain the other: NC
Firefighter Level II and/or NC EMT-Basic.
Candidates must also be willing and able to acquire additional
certifications and levels of training in: a valid class B North
Carolina driver's license, Water Rescue shore-based and rescue
boat-based, AHA BCLS certification (CPR/AED). Preference will be
given to the applicants who possess at least two years of law
enforcement experience. Salary starting rate will commensurate

Public Works Specialist
The Village of Bald Head Island Public Works Department is
accepting applications for a
Full time Public Works Specialist
The position requires graduation from high
school or equivalent; supplemented by one year of previous
experience or training involving building/facility maintenance,
landscape maintenance, and equipment operation; or any
equivalent combination of education and training. Applicant
should be able to perform manual labor in varying weather
conditions and be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Applicant
must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s
license.
Salary range is $28,963– $43,445, but will commensurate with
qualifications and experience. The Village offers an excellent
benefits package.
