First Annual Village Hall Day           September 22, 2006

Village Hall Day was a big success.   Over 150 property owners and visitors came by to see the various departmental displays and to get important information.

Village Hall and Inspections staff  had updated resident lists, island information pamphlets, CAMA, budget items, turtle information, ordinances, and other assorted information.  The Utilities department had water meters, grinder pumps, and other hardware for property owners to see and ask questions about.  The Fire-Rescue department had golf cart safety information, Knox Box order forms, fire and medical safety brochures, and the new fire engine that was delivered to the island during Village Hall Day.  Public Works offered information on recycling, debris pickup, and their new schedule which keeps their site open seven (7) days a week.  The Public Safety Department offered their annual statistics, golf cart registration information, general rules and ordinances on the island, and stuff for the kids.

Of course lunch was appreciated as well.   A total of 84 hotdogs and 73 hamburgers were served.

Thanks to everyone for making the First Annual Village Hall Day such a  huge success.  Plans are in the works for next years Village Hall Day.  We will announce the date in the near future.
